Bossy Me Now: Submitting to my Hubby Boss

[x_section style=”margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; padding: 45px 0px 45px 0px; “][x_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” bg_color=”” style=”margin: 0px auto 0px auto; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_column bg_color=”” type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_text]Monique:

Before I was married, I was an accomplished career woman. As an accounts manager for an advertising firm, I brought in millions to the company and everyone was telling me I that was walking on the ladder of success.

I eventually started my own business. With the leadership skills and talent God has given me, I was able to reach even higher heights in my career.

And then came marriage.

I know many wives struggle with power, leadership and control that it hurts the marriage at its early stages. If you are a career oriented woman like me, I would like to impart to you how to transition from being your Bossy self to being the best helpmate to your new Boss – your servant leader, husband.

“For wives, this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23 For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of his body, the church. As the church submits to Christ, so you wives should submit to your husbands in everything” Ephesians 5:22-33.

First understand that God designed couples to have very important roles to play in the marriage. If we don’t follow the design – there are bound to be heartaches. If you’re a goal oriented and success-driven wife – you would want to win in this marriage![/x_text][/x_column][/x_row][/x_section][x_section style=”margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; padding: 45px 0px 45px 0px; “][x_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” bg_color=”” style=”margin: 0px auto 0px auto; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_column bg_color=”” type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_image type=”none” src=”https://weddingsatwork.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/chart-submission.jpg” alt=”” link=”false” href=”#” title=”” target=”” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” info_content=””][/x_column][/x_row][/x_section][x_section style=”margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; padding: 45px 0px 45px 0px; “][x_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” bg_color=”” style=”margin: 0px auto 0px auto; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_column bg_color=”” type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_text]In this chart, you can see that our husbands carry such a big responsibility to run this marriage. This is the reason why as wives, we need to be good team players alongside our husbands.

How do we become a great team? It starts by being good helpmates. We must learn to submit to their leading.

Submission sounds like a really bad word! In fact, I know many women dread it. But let me tell you this: It’s a military word that means to fall in line. In other words – we become a great team when we let our husband lead the family and we become their best support system to make it happen.

When we submit – we allow our husband to take care of us and we allow them to make big dreams for our family. When there is a submissive wife, a husband is more than willing to go the extra mile to serve and love his wife. Why? Because he knows you have his back and best interest in mind, and if he clearly knows that, he wants to do the same for you.

So if you ask me, I love to submit to my husband. I am blessed when I do submit. It makes my life less complicated and it takes away the stress of fighting about petty things.

If there are times that we have a discussion on a certain issue, I have to always remind myself, my husband is not my ENEMY. He always has good intentions for me.
I also thank God that my husband hears my thoughts and opinion. If his decision does not sit well with me, I ask God to interfere and give both of us wisdom.

I pray for 2 things: God change the heart of my husband if I am right or change my heart to accept that he is right and that he wants to protect me from wrong motives.
[/x_text][/x_column][/x_row][/x_section][x_section style=”margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; padding: 45px 0px 45px 0px; “][x_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” bg_color=”” style=”margin: 0px auto 0px auto; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_column bg_color=”” type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_text]John:

If there is an issue that raises the wives’ eyebrows, it would have to be on the topic of submission. It’s a command in the Bible that even Christian couples find hard to obey. Either they raise questions and exceptions such as: What if he’s not a believer? What if he’s wrong? What if he’s not responsible? Up to what extent do I submit?

Or totally regard this verse as “not applicable” or “obsolete” and that maybe it was just applicable then.

Here are some pointers that you could remember to make submission easier:

1. Submission is for order & harmony, not to rule or step over. When a wife submits to you, it means she trust her life in your leading. Submission does not mean your wife becomes your personal maid. If you are a servant leader, you must model first how to serve. Serve your wife as you would want to be served.

2. Yes wives are to submit, but there is also a command for husbands and that is to love our wives. How much? As much as Jesus loved his church! Many husbands forget to nurture their wife. Some of the wives look way older than they are because their husband won’t even give them budget for a salon break or even shopping money to look good. Some husbands are guilty of not dating their wives and therefore losing romance in the marriage. If you love your wife, give her a voice. Listen to her. She might just have insights that can help you lead your family better.

“For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself” Ephesians 5: 25-28.

Some of you may ask, what if your husband is dumb? Or wrong? My answer is “SO?” Still submit.
There is a third point here that we need to realize.

3. Husbands are accountable to God, meaning your husband may be right or he may be wrong, but in the end, he will be answering to God for all his mistakes and wrong decisions. That is why the weight is still with the husband.

As I end my portion, may I just give a little request to the husbands? I know the command is clear for our wives to submit to us, but please make it easy for them to. Make ourselves worth submitting to by being not only loving but also being responsible. Remember, whether or not our marriage succeeds or fail, we are accountable and responsible for this marriage. I hope that we will really do all we can to make it work.

Will you invite your Ex to your wedding?

[/x_text][/x_column][/x_row][/x_section][x_section style=”margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; padding: 45px 0px 45px 0px; “][x_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” bg_color=”” style=”margin: 0px auto 0px auto; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_column bg_color=”” type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_text]One of the most interesting discussions we have in the WaW community is the topic on exes. Do you or do you not invite your ex to your wedding?

For some people, no comes easy since their ties with their exes had been severed ages ago, but the situation may be a bit more complicated for others.

For instance, there is a love child involved or the so-called ex is your fiancé’s close relative.

We sorted through the WaWies’ answers and here are some of their insights:

A Big NO

Many of the WaWies said no for practical reasons, while others gave more thoughtful answers .

“No. I prefer not to invite him since hindi naman kami close and hindi rin sila close in H2B,” says Jennifer. “I know H2B and his family will not like to see him on our big day. It will be our big day so I would rather not include my ex on our celebration.”

She points out, “my H2B did not invite his ex too. We would like to minimize the number of our guests so we would rather give the slot to a person close and important to the both of us.”

Kimi answers, “No. Out of respect for my husband.” Then adds, “parang weird din kasi, haha. Wala rin naman kami masyadong contact ni ex and wala rin akong in-invite na College friends (naging kami nung College kasi).”

Raquel goes, “No for both of us. We had both moved on from our exes who were and are no longer part of our lives.”

“We both agreed not to invite exes and their families kasi it would sound like planning to remain friends with the ex,” thinks Ann. “And for sure hindi naman namin maaalala ang absence in ex sa wedding, but the other would surely remember the ex’s presence.”

Ann actually had a more sensitive reason for not inviting her fiance’s ex. “Muntik pa siya maging dahilan para magkasala si boyfriend sa akin noon!”

A Bigger NO

Which brings us to why inviting the ex is not an option for our other WaWies.

“Nope. Si hubby kasi ang reason kung bakit kami nag-break ni ex…and hindi pa rin ako ina-add ni ex sa FB…hahaha…medyo bitter lang,” admits Tine.

“No,” says Rose. “I’m friends with my exes, but hubby is not with his. ‘Yung isa, inaway pa talaga ako before, hahaha! We agreed na lang to be fair, we will not invite any of them.”

“Hindi, hehe,” Len says. “Third party namin ni ex yung napangasawa niya, kaya awkward naman.” She continues, “saka not in good terms kami ni ex.”

“A big NO,” Lyn laughs. “All hell will break loose kapag in-invite niya ang ex niya, haha!”

Yes to the Ex

Some of our other WaWies don’t see any problem inviting their exes to their wedding.

“Yes, I invited my ex sa wedding namin kasi isang barkada lang and married na rin naman siya nun, so keri na lang sa akin,” Ivy explains.

Dhaey took it step further, “Yes, we invited our exes sa wedding. Sa katunayan, isa sa kanila kumanta sa bridal march ko, then yung isang ex ko naman, mom niya ninang naming sa kasal.”

“One of his exes, yes,” volunteers Yana. “Kasi high school barkada niya ‘yun saka malapit naman kami, so no problem.”

Jessa, too, was okay with inviting her fiancé’s ex. “I invited my fiance’s ex. She’s happily married na with a kid. I invited her because she was nice naman and she helped us book our hotel.” She adds, “she’s based in the US, I don’t think she’ll fly back home just to attend our wedding.”

Talk it over with your fiancé/fiancée

While there may be pressure from other people or situations to invite an ex, ultimately, the decision should only be between the bride and the groom.

If there are no issues involved, when you bear no ill feeling towards the ex; or when the ex is not seen as an ex but a friend; when both of you feel good about having the person around on your big day, then there shouldn’t be any problem inviting him or her.

Krystle agrees, “I invited my first ex kasi his sister is my best friend and one of my bridesmaids, plus his parents are my ninong and ninang. Super good terms kami pati ni hubby, so no problem there.”

However, if the only reason is that the ex is part of the barkada and will be the only one left out of the list, it is important to consult your fiancé/fiancée first, after all, you don’t want to make the other uncomfortable because of an unwanted guest in your party.

As Benz puts it, “what better statement to your partner that his or her comfort is above any friend’s feelings!”

WaWParazzi: Arthur Solinap & Rochelle Pangilinan Marriage Proposal

[cs_content][cs_section parallax=”false” style=”margin: 0px;padding: 45px 0px;”][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px;”][cs_text]It all started out when I got a call from PPL entertainment’s big bosses Perry Lansigan and Paolo Luciano, management group that handles Art and Rochelle (and I met them since they are also the managers of Dingdong Dantes).

They told me that we had to meet so we can come up with a great plan for the surprise proposal and to discuss the ideas of Arthur.

So here we are in this PIC, after our brainstorming session:

The plan was that Art and Rochelle were to have a post Valentine’s dinner in another resto that night. Art was supposed to take her to dinner around 7:30 PM, but before that, Art would make a quick stop in Balay Indang and he was to tell Rochelle that they can have a few photos taken in the place where they first met.

Upon entering the reception area, Rochelle and Art were to be stopped by the manager (who happens to be a talent, I got to act as the manager) since there was supposed to be a party happening.

Art excused himself to go to the toilet and that was his cue to go to the spot in the gazebo where he’d propose.

Rochelle on the other hand heard over the two way radio that Art requested her to be brought to the gazebo area so they can take photos there.

Then she heard the acoustic music by Singer Mygz, singing their favorite love song– “always be my baby”.

The highlight, of course, was when Art popped the question, soon after he professed his love for Rochelle and highlighting how thankful he was to God that He gave him Rochelle

Hi, I am John Mateos Ong, a wedding photographer, scuba diver instructor, blogger, song writer, a pastor, a husband and father to 5 wonderful children.

Because of what i’ve been through in life, I realize that there much about what’s important in life is not actually taught in school nor anywhere else.

So I’ve been given a burden to help couples jumpstart their marriage. I noticed that almost all couples become so excited and so busy preparing for the wedding day that they miss out on investing in the marriage itself.

This has been my calling to share principles of marriage from the Designer of marriage found in the Bible.

So we came up with the “Before I do workshop”. Currently on our 20th run, going on our 9th year. This workshop allows couples to engage, discover and create a blueprint for their marriage.

I personally can attest that marriage within God’s design is an amazing journey. [/x_text][/x_column][/x_row][/x_section][x_section style=”margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; padding: 45px 0px 45px 0px; “][x_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” bg_color=”” style=”margin: 0px auto 0px auto; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_column bg_color=”” type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_text]Monique:

Hi, my name is Monique Ong. I am a wedding host, an event director, blogger, John’s ultimate cheerleader – wife and a homeschooling mom .

It is my desire to empower women to be the best wife they can be to their husband.

There is so much to learn from home management, communication, in-laws, submission and more.

Marriage is hard work. But if you work hard on your marriage, I can guarantee you can reap the best of what marriage has to offer.

We are so excited to impart to you what we know about marriage. So when Benz gave us the opportunity to have a column here in W@W, we consider this a real honor and privilege.

As an alumnae W@Wie , I can attest that this site has the richest resource when it comes to weddings. Beyond the suppliers, what I I love the most about W@W is the friendships made because of this community.

As W@W has evolved through the years, it so exciting because it now also gives soon-to-be weds a sneak preview of the bliss, blunders and blessings of marriage.

So welcome to our Before I do corner. Here we can discuss anything and everything about marriage.

So throw in some questions such as marriage preps and real life marriage issues and we will be happy to respond back.

We hope this can be a start of a great friendship![/x_text][/x_column][/x_row][/x_section][x_section style=”margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; padding: 45px 0px 45px 0px; “][x_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” bg_color=”” style=”margin: 0px auto 0px auto; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_column bg_color=”” type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_image type=”none” src=”https://weddingsatwork.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/weddings61.jpg” alt=”” link=”false” href=”#” title=”” target=”” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” info_content=””][/x_column][/x_row][/x_section][x_section style=”margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; padding: 45px 0px 45px 0px; “][x_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” bg_color=”” style=”margin: 0px auto 0px auto; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_column bg_color=”” type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_text]Transitioning from ME to WE

AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH; so they are no longer two, but one flesh. – Mark 10:8

There is something special about marriage because it puts two very different and unique people together and God makes them one unit.

The transition to becoming one though does not come natural. That is why while you are engage to be married, we encourage couples to start practicing becoming one.

There will be several adjustments that will be required from each one to achieve this. But mastering it, will give you the best of marriage.

ALIGN YOUR SCHEDULE

I never realized that this would be such an issue. But once married, you will need to learn to make sure that your schedules are in synced.

Making plans for the day or for the week requires always thinking about your spouse as part of your daily grind.

The first few conflicts we had as a married couple was getting the rhythm of our schedule. John will set meetings assuming I am aware of it. I on the other hand, would also book activities with other people on that same time and day.

The tension begins when we discover that we have overlapping appointments at opposite sides of the metro – of course it becomes a hassle.

One time, John surprised me with an out of the country trip only to realize after booking the flight that I had a hosting event in the Philippines on one of the dates that we were out.

Since we wanted to honor that booking, I ended up flying back earlier instead of spending 2 more days with John.

Today, we have aligned our schedule through a merged calendar app. I have learned to ask before making any commitment. It has allowed us to operate as one.

ALIGN YOUR PRIORITIES

Next to God, your number one priority is your spouse.

There will be major adjustments when it comes to your friends, past time activities, work and hobbies.

Sometimes we think we can still do our usual routines of playing 2-3x a week basketball or having regular happy hour cocktails or weekend gimmicks. This can be a cause of stress for your marriage especially if it will mean that your spouse is not part of those activities.

Many wives have complained and cried over how their husbands can be insensitive to how they spend their time with other things rather than spending time with them.

That is why weekly dates are necessary to help strengthen your marriage.

Also sometimes, some activities might have to be dropped because its not giving you a healthy marriage.

Being able to know your priorities and owning up to it, helps make you one flesh.

ALIGN YOUR FAMILY IDENTITY

You will now be known as Mr. AND Mrs. Married Couple.

Entering the marriage, you and your spouse must be able to answer these questions: What is our family vision statement? What is our family values? What will I contribute in the marriage to make it exciting? What is our family goals for the first year? What role will I play in this marriage? What irks my spouse and what encourages my spouse?

Being able to respond to these questions helps you build your identity as married couple. This gives your marriage direction and allows you to have your own special identity.[/x_text][/x_column][/x_row][/x_section][x_section style=”margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; padding: 45px 0px 45px 0px; “][x_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” bg_color=”” style=”margin: 0px auto 0px auto; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_column bg_color=”” type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_text]Images by John Mateos Ong.[/x_text][/x_column][/x_row][/x_section][x_section style=”margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; padding: 45px 0px 45px 0px; “][x_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” bg_color=”” style=”margin: 0px auto 0px auto; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_column bg_color=”” type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_block_grid type=”two-up”][x_block_grid_item]John-Ong-Monique[/x_block_grid_item][x_block_grid_item]About John & Monique Ong: Husband and Wife John and Monique Ong are partners in every sense – from homeschooling their children, running their business Imagine Nation Photography Inc, blogging, and in helping equip soon-to-wed couples and newlyweds for their lives together.

WaW Bridal Fashion: Silhouettes by Boy Kastner

[cs_content][cs_section parallax=”false” style=”margin: 0px;padding: 45px 0px;”][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px;”][cs_text]Many brides-to-be come to me already with ideas on how they want their wedding gowns to look like. Wedding gown pegs usually give me an insight of the bride’s personality and it is always a joy for me as a designer to take part in the co-creation process.

Abstract ideas such as magazine cut-outs are transformed into sketches which then transform into a gown that will be worn on the most important day on a woman’s life. Oftentimes, the process goes smoothly. The bride-to-be knows what she wants and I use her idea as a springboard for a wedding gown creation.

At times though, brides-to-be can get really fixated on how they want their gown to look like without taking into consideration if the cut will look good on them. During these times, I feel the need to step in and direct my clients towards silhouettes that are more flattering.

Mind you, I am an advocate for celebrating the female form whatever it may be but as a general rule, I also subscribe to the following when it comes to silhouettes:

I think 2016 is the year that this style can rest for a while to give way to sleeker styles such as the serpentine.

In addition to body shape, it is also important to factor in your budget (as I often jest, balloon skirts go with balloon rates) and the activities you will be doing for the day.

Remember that you and your wedding gown will be going through a whole gamut of activities from the actual wedding rites to pictorials to reception to dancing the night away.

I have seen many brides take on less-than pleasant dispositions because they were exhausted at having to go through the entire day minding their skirts and making sure the bead work won’t get damaged.

Be as dazzling as a Disney princess on your wedding day but make sure that you pick a dress that can keep up with your energy and temper.

WaW Tip Sheet: The Perfect Wedding

[cs_content][cs_section parallax=”false” style=”margin: 0px;padding: 45px 0px;”][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px;”][cs_text]They say “the perfect wedding” is a myth.

I dare say, “the perfect wedding is not a myth”. It can happen anytime, anywhere.
But where do you get the perfect set of suppliers? How do you ensure perfect weather?
My response?

Before you can have the perfect set of suppliers or ensure perfect weather, you will need first and foremost, the perfect couple.

How do you become the perfect couple?

Let’s take it from those who have already achieved that status.

a) They are the ones who researched for suppliers before booking. They joined a reputable online community like Weddings at Work to get feedback from fellow couples before making decisions on whom to book.

b) They are at peace with their choices because they know they chose according to how the suppliers match their needs and their personalities — not just the price or the freebies.

c) They dutifully did their part as a couple by filling out templates, being fully present during meetings, and properly labelling all turnovers. They also did RSVP call outs and text blasts (either on their own or through their coordinator) and they worked on their guest list with much focus, despite it being one of the most difficult tasks of a couple prior to marriage.

d) That way… on the day… they can let go and let God. They can smile with immense joy because they know they are in good hands. They can let little things pass without betraying frustration or disappointment on their faces. They are mature enough to know that things can only be as perfect as they want them to be.

e) They can’t control guest attendance, traffic, weather, and even the beauty of the batch of flowers that would be delivered on their day, but they can control their reaction to irritants. They can be contented with what they have and still choose to have fun.

Let’s think of “what if” scenarios.

So it rained, right before your bridal march. Are you going to cry or shrug it off? Wouldn’t it be better to show the guests what a trooper you are and how ready you are for the real world as a wife?

So not all your guests arrived despite having confirmed? Will you start mentally computing how much of your money went to waste right after you entered the hall? Or will you smile, enjoy your guests’ applause, and dance to your heart’s delight with your groom without thinking of the empty seats?

While decline in guest attendance costs money, it will be cost you more if you don’t smile or you betray too much annoyance on your face. Why? Because by frowning all the time, you will end up wasting the otherwise great photos and video clips your teams could have captured on your day.

So your suppliers are late because of an accident on the road that caused a major traffic jam…Will pouting and throwing a tantrum make things move faster? You can always shrug it off and smile. Let your suppliers weave their magic despite limited time. (And i will tell you that if you got reputable ones, they will be able to weave their magic more when you show them how confident you are in their abilities despite the unexpected hitch.)
Bottomline: Choose the members of your team wisely then trust them to fulfil your expectations. Your contentment with what they can deliver and your inner peace that everything will work out for the good can do wonders.

Smile, enjoy, and let your guests see what a perfect wedding you have. Nothing and no one can literally or figuratively rain on your parade if you have that inner joy that only real love and real trust can exude.

WaW Color Play: Red, the Color of Love

Can you smell it in the air? Yup, it’s here! It’s the season of love! For those whose weddings bells are set to chime any time soon, February holds a different kind of thrill. What better month to get married than the love month?  So to honor the overflow of love of the season, we’ve put together 4 ways of channeling the color red on your wedding day.

FIESTA RED

In their Spring 2016 Fashion Color Report, the world’s foremost authority on color, Pantone, chooses Fiesta Red as part of the palette. According to Pantone, Fiesta Red is “harbinger of excitement”. We likey!
Fiesta-color

This fiery red shade has a yellow base which gives this bouquet of red poppies a unique pop. Imagine walking down the aisle with these beauties in your hand.

red-bouquet

Fiesta red gives wedding invitations a different appeal. It’s the kind of color that’s sits between coral and classic and gives that interesting touch when on paper.

VINTAGE RED

If you want to channel a bit old the classic charm without going too far back in the past, vintage red does the trick. It’s that shade that never goes out of style. The classic red roses bouquet is a choice of many brides. Sometimes it’s the simple that overloads on the romance. Who wouldn’t want to have that on her wedding day?

wedding-bouquet-red

A huge population on this planet would agree that Coke red is the ultimate red. For Coke memorabilia collectors, having your favorite drink to your special day adds a welcome fizz.

A little bit of country also kills the vintage theme. Since this is the love month, let your guests bring home a little bit of it with these cute jute bags decorated with a red heart.  That little red clothespin delivers the final touch.

ORIENTAL RED

For those leading towards the oriental theme as a nod to the Chinese New Year, it’s only the color red that can nail this theme.

A cluster of red Chinese lanterns over the dinner table decked in red flowers and linens provide the perfect setting for an all-night party.

Weddings are truly a celebration of double happiness for you and your groom. So at the altar, go ahead and own that happiness!

SASSY RED

For the fashion savvy bride, red on the wedding day is glam and gorgeous. She who dares to wear red, wins the aisle war. This gown. No words.

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend. And shoes. So why not have both on your wedding day? This pair will take you from the altar to the dance floor in a snap.  (I hear a collective “Yes!”.)

Whatever your red is, one thing’s for certain: in your heart and his it burns with love that will endure through the years. Love wins!

My Future Surname

Mrs…???

Under the law, a married woman can opt to use (1) her maiden name, (2) her maiden name and her husband’s surname with the hyphen in the middle, or (3) her husband’s surname. However, once you have made the choice, you have to use it consistently for the rest of your life — i.e., all your records with SSS, Philhealth, Pag-ibig, BIR, passport, driver’s license, bank account, etc. have to show the same surname. Once you’ve made the choice, it would be very hard (and such a hassle) to change it so think it over carefully.

One dilemma or question that is quite hard to deal with for some, especially those brides who made a name for themselves already while single, is to decide which surname to use; use husband’s surname or hyphenate the surname.

I myself was one who wanted to retain my old surname and I regret doing so. To think that I felt so proud of myself to have found an LTO (after going through 2 rejections) that would allow me to hyphenate my surname.

Why do I regret it? After a couple of years it feels old and I found it easier to just say Mrs. Rana than say Mrs. Co-Rana not having to perennially correct the Corana they hear.

I missed several opportunities, like the ultrasound guy calling my husband Mr Co-Rana and he wasn’t expecting that, thus missing watching our firstborn’s first ultrasound, my friends having a really hard time finding my hospital room upon giving birth because there really is no Mrs Rana or Miss Co. And me having to wait long because they can’t find my paper filed under C for Co-Rana or finding Rana when I am filed under C.

And those wasted hours are no joke!

Also having to explain why my two valid government issued ID’s are not matching. One is Co-Rana, another is Rana. I wasn’t allowed by DFA to use Co-Rana.

I feel strongly about these inconveniences that I would repeatedly tell newlyweds to not hyphenate. If you really love your maiden name use it for social media or not legal ID’s.

But of course this is just my view. I asked our NaWies who used hyphenated surnames and I found a few who are happy about it and say that the inconveniences they went through are well worth it.

Those who are professionals, like doctors and architects, retained they maiden names with the PRC ID’s as tribute to their parents who paid for their tuition and made them who they are now.

If you want to go the hyphenated surname route, please be prepare for the following inconveniences:

1. Online forms. Some don’t accept special characters. So no hyphen pag finill-out ‘yung form.

2. Some offices will really not allow you to have hyphenated surname so your official documents will have some hyphenated and others will have your husband’s surname

3. Files being lost as they are not sure which alphabet to file your files in

4. Boxes provided are not enough to fit the hyphenated surname

5. Some offices ask you to provide supporting documents why your surname is hyphenated

Editor’s Note: This is the third of our 3-part blog series on WaW Funny Wedding Proposal Stories that we’ve gathered from our WaWies. This time, we’ve got sprockets and buses involved. Enjoy![/x_text][/x_column][/x_row][/x_section][x_section style=”margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; padding: 45px 0px 45px 0px; “][x_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” bg_color=”” style=”margin: 0px auto 0px auto; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_column bg_color=”” type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_text]Melly

Franz proposed on July 5, 2015 at Breakfast at Antonio’s in Tagaytay. Even before the proposal, we were already preparing for our 2017 wedding. He knew that I was expecting a proposal any time soon. I was even reminding him of the things I wanna experience during the proposal, haha. You see, nearly every girl in this world dreams of receiving an engagement ring from her prince charming.

I told Franz that I do not need an expensive ring. I even (half) joked about only wanting a cheap ring from since my kuripot self will probably turn hysterical at the sight of a fancy ring on proposal day.

That joke seemed to have backfired when he said he would give me 11 titanium rings, instead. He was actually referring to the sprockets found on racing bikes, since my road bike then only had an entry level gear set and the one he mentioned will surely level up my game (we’re newbie triathletes kasi).

Anyway, this made my eyes roll and told him, “bigyan mo naman ako ng singsing! (give me a ring!)”

He kept on pushing for that proposal idea, jokingly suggesting that he’d place one “ring” per finger. I’d get upset whenever he’d tell me that, but I always convince myself that he’s just trying to veer me away from finding out about his plan.

Franz chose to propose on the same day our friend proposed to his girlfriend because I was busy helping ironing out the plan. He knew I wouldn’t suspect his proposal plan as I was too preoccupied.

To make the long story short(er), our friend’s proposal was a success and we planned to have a celebratory lunch somewhere in Tagaytay. My best friend suggested Breakfast at Antonio’s and we all agreed.

When we’re all seated, our friend Jason handed me a gift. I asked what it is, but he just insisted that I open it to find out. It was then I realized that everyone seemed so giddy. “Mag po-propose na ata,” I thought.

I didn’t want to open it at first, because I felt that it was going to be THAT day. After a while, I decided to open it, and Voila! There they were! The 11 titanium sprockets that he’d been joking about!!!

Of course, I freaked out! Cameras were all out, but Franz wasn’t able to kneel and pop the question because I gave him an upset stare and violently asked where my engagement ring was.

“Asan yung singsing?!?!?!” I asked.

My friends all laughed and the restaurant guests seemed to have felt sorry for Franz, hahaha. He pulled out the ring and slid it on my finger, and that’s it. We’re finally engaged!

We had a little argument after that, because he knew I wanted a private proposal – only us! Franz laughed and said he did not forget about that. He explained that I was too suspicious and that I gave him a hard time executing his proposal. Somehow, he said, his plan was a success because I was clueless. Hahahaha!

One afternoon, sinundo niya ako sa work. Our routine was we will just wait for the bus bound to Laguna inside the car. So while waiting, he asked me “Pa’no mo gusto ako mag-propose sayo?”

I answered, “Hay nako! Mag-propose ka na lang, okay na sa akin!” I was just teasing him kasi nga mukhang wala naman s’ya balak mag propose with a ring.

Madalas naman s’ya magtanong if I will marry him.

And then, right there and then, bigla niya binuksan yung small compartment sa harap ng passenger seat – may red box!

We were both laughing. No one’s talking.

Nangingilid na luha ko kakatawa. Siya din tawa ng tawa. Ganun kami for quite some time.

Tapos biglang may bus. Hindi pa nya nao-open yung box!

I had to go kasi if I let the bus leave me, 45 minutes ang aantayin ko. And I was so overwhelmed. I needed to breathe, haha!

Sabi ko, “next time na lang, bye!” And we were still laughing. He didn’t get to open the box.

He didn’t feel bad that I left. The question came 2 weeks later.

So nung napag-usapan namin ‘yung exchange gift, talaga namang excited ako. Tinanong ko s’ya ano’ng gift n’ya sa ‘kin. Siyempre ayaw nya sabihin.

Tapos humingi ako ng clue. Sabi nya sobrang matutuwa raw ako, maiiyak pa raw ako. Eh di lalo akong na-excite. Then sabi ko starts with letter ano yung gift nya. He said ‘S’.

Sabi pa nung isang friend ko, hindi naman siguro ako papaasahin ni Erick nang ganun since he knew I wanted to get married already.

Come the assumed proposal day, napag-usapan namin mag-exchange gift sa araw ng kasal ng barkada n’ya.

Then he greeted me Merry Christmas sabay abot ng gift.

It was a minion! Si Stuart. Heartbreaking (Mimma)!

The Second Time

On our 3rd anniversary, we went to Batanes to celebrate. Sobrang scenic ng lugar, nakakaiyak sa ganda. So ayun, expect na naman ako. Nakakita pa kami ng proposal mismo on one of our tours.

On our last night, nagpa-reserve kami sa Bunkers Cafe para magdinner, `yun din kasi exact date ng anniv namin. So ayun mega expect ako. Hahaha!

Dumating na `yung dessert at natapos na kami kumain. Walang question at walang sing-sing.

The Third Time

On our 4th anniversary and his 32nd birthday, we went to HK and Macau.

Saka nabi-buildup din kasi ng friends and officemates na tuwing may trip kami eh this is it na. Saka eto rin ‘yung first out of the country trip namin na kami lang. Kaya ayun!

Fourth Time’s the Charm
On my 29th birthday, we went to New Zealand.

After nun, never na talaga. Ang hirap kasi hindi mag-expect Mimma. O baka ako lang yun? Hahaha!

‘Yung mga kasama namin, with my bestfriend, sumamba muna kasi INC sila. So kami lang ni H2B naiwan sa cabin.

Turquoise lake, snowy mountains… Sabi ko sa kanya picture kami. Then sabi n’ya, bago kami mag-picture, may sasabihin siya.

Lumuhod siya bigla sabay labas ng box!

Binuksan niya yung box then “Marry me” sabi nya.

Waaah, ganun pala un! Nakakaiyak talaga sa tuwa!

So ayun, he proposed 3 days after my birthday, when I was no longer expecting it and I’ve accepted already that it won’t happen in NZ.

The Proposal that almost happened

Hahaha!!! Kasi yung last inspection before kami mag-board ng plane, as in kakalkalin yung gamit.

Nauna ako magpa-inspect, after ako kapain, lumingon ako kasi parang may commotion. Nagtatawanan sila nung inspector. Palusot niya nun hinalungkat daw briefs nya. Hahaha!

Ayun, napa-whew sya. Kasi mapapasubo sya kung sakali. Hahahaha!

When you have been with your boyfriend for a lot of years and at the stage where marriage have been discussed, it is not surprising to find these women practice what they’re going to say or how they’re going to react once their boyfriends go down on their knees and pop the question.

That’s why we get giddy on every possible event that it could happen. Will he propose? Is it tonight? Will it happen today? Here are some of the funny Hopia stories. Apparently there are plenty of them.

Sometime in mid-2014, my boyfriend shared a story to me about how they were teasing one of the girls in their high school barkada that her boyfriend will propose to her during their trip to the US,” shares Bianca Rae Danao. “Apparently, it will be their first time in the US.”

She continues, “During that time, we had a trip planned for October for Bali. It will be our first vacation outside of the Philippines. I suddenly had this feeling that Bali might be “it” for us. In May last year, I lost a ring in a hotel in Baguio. I had this crazy idea that maybe he was keeping it and using it to buy me an engagement ring. Feel ko talaga Bali na.”

Her excitement continued to build that Bianca made sure she brought the right outfits to go with it. “We were vacationing with another couple friend, so may kukuha ng picture if ever, haha!” She laughs.

March 2015 (El Nido, Palawan). We were in El Nido for our 4th anniversary this year. Before that, medyo tinatanong-tanong ko na siya about engagements, and one time, I even asked him when he’ll propose, and he smiled and said, “Soon.” El Nido made sense kasi it was our anniversary. Also, I just felt like Gerald is not the type who’ll just propose in an ordinary place, but I also know he won’t go through anything that will require extensive planning – nothing like the flash mob types. So El Nido seem to fit the bill.

June 19, 2015 (Tinyan-Chamantad Viewpoint, Sabtang, Batanes). Somewhere along the Tinyan-Chamantad Viewpoint, while I stopped to catch my breath, I looked around the rolling hills around me. It was so calming, and then suddenly, I remembered the proposal and I panicked! My heart raced and a voice in my head kept on shouting, “Oh no sana wag dito! Ang daming tao nakakahiya!” Sobrang na-stress ako! Hahaha! And then Gerald led me to the rock – one of the spots in the view point where people go to take photos. Sobra kong kinabahan! I was thinking hindi ko kakayanin pag bigla na lang lumuhod dito si Yayay!! Well, to my relief (and disappointment – I can’t seem to make up my mind about this engagement: gusto ko ba talaga o hinde??) he didn’t propose that day.”

“I really wanted it to happen in a beautiful place and have someone take a photo while it’s happening with the view in the background,” Bianca continues. “I got the beautiful view, but not the photo. Sobrang na-dyahe yung fiance ko at pinaalis niya si manong tour guide namin before he proposed. It was alright, though, kasi I don’t think either of us will ever forget the proposal even without a photo.”
[/x_text][/x_column][/x_row][/x_section][x_section style=”margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; padding: 45px 0px 45px 0px; “][x_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” bg_color=”” style=”margin: 0px auto 0px auto; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_column bg_color=”” type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_image type=”none” src=”https://weddingsatwork.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/DSC_0313.jpg” alt=”” link=”false” href=”#” title=”” target=”” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” info_content=””][/x_column][/x_row][/x_section][x_section style=”margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; padding: 45px 0px 45px 0px; “][x_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” bg_color=”” style=”margin: 0px auto 0px auto; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_column bg_color=”” type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_text]Leslie
How about misunderstanding a romantic gesture as “the moment”? We’ve got those stories, too!

“…’eto talaga nangyari sa amin. Anniversary namin,” Leslie Ann Alcala says. “Di ko lang tanda pang-ilang year naming anniversary. We had our dinner date. Then s’yempre exchange gift.

Parang nag-away/nagtalo pa kami while having our dinner date. Hahaha! Lesson learned. ‘Wag assumera hahaha!”

“But, eventually (Mimma), after the couple ring, wedding ring na ang sunod. He did not propose to me na. He “proposed” to my parents bago siya umalis nun papuntang Dubai para magwork. He told them after a year, he will marry me na,” Leslie shares.[/x_text][/x_column][/x_row][/x_section][x_section style=”margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; padding: 45px 0px 45px 0px; “][x_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” bg_color=”” style=”margin: 0px auto 0px auto; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_column bg_color=”” type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_image type=”none” src=”https://weddingsatwork.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/IMG_2201.jpg” alt=”” link=”false” href=”#” title=”” target=”” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” info_content=””][/x_column][/x_row][/x_section][x_section style=”margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; padding: 45px 0px 45px 0px; “][x_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” bg_color=”” style=”margin: 0px auto 0px auto; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_column bg_color=”” type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_text]Gem

“Nagpropose din naman on the same day but hindi lang sa way na ine-expect ko,” Gem Alvarez-Andalajao started.

Nag book ako ng trip to Puerto Princesa for our 6th anniv as bf-gf last July 2014.

Ang itinerary namin for that day is underground river so inisip ko baka dun siya magpropose.

Nag-expect ulit ako na baka “this is it!”

But sad to say, wala pa din. We went back to the hotel na.

Habang nasa kubo kami at umiinom ako ng kape at nagyoyosi sia, he proposed…

“Year 2014 when we started talking about wedding. Lagi ko kasing nakikita sa feeds ko sa fb about proposal so im teasing him all the time when he will propose…so 5 years na kami that time,” admits Gem. “Ang expected ko lang talaga na time na magpo-propose siya is yung trip namin sa Palawan.. Kasi it’s our 6th anniversary kaya talaga nag-expect ako.”

Leslie continues, “Hindi kasi mahilig si hubby mag-surprise. He’ll always ask me, ano’ng gusto kong gift sa kahit na ano’ng event na dumarating sa life namin. Then ‘yun nga, nung anniversary namin (either 6th or 7th year anniversary), he said may surprise siya sa akin. Tapos when we met na hindi pa niya binibigay yung couple ring, medyo tensed at excited siya. So I thought, this is it. Yahoo! Finally! Hahaha!”

Bianca, on the other hand, says that she anticipated her boyfriend to propose after dating for more than three years.

Asked on whether their fiancés ever found out that they were expecting to be proposed to, Bianca answers, “He only found out about it after we got engaged. Kasi I was chatting with my friend over Facebook and kinwento ko sa kanya all my expectations tapos sabi niya, “Eh hopia monggo ka pala eh!” Kinwento ko kay Gerald (her boyfriend) ‘yung sinabi ng friend ko at tawang-tawa siya. Lalo siyang tawang-tawa when he read the exact details when I blogged about it.”
“Yes,” Gem replies. “After he proposed, nak’wento ko sa kanya ‘yung mga times na ine-expect ko na magpo-propose siya.. Like yung 12am, underground and dinner namin.”

Yes,” Leslie laughs. “Kaya nga bigla siya natahimik at na-pressure. Kasi hindi niya expected na in-expect ko na, hahaha! At nagkatampuhan pa kami. Kasi nga emotera na ‘ko dahil disappointed. Haha.”[/x_text][/x_column][/x_row][/x_section][x_section style=”margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; padding: 45px 0px 45px 0px; “][x_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” bg_color=”” style=”margin: 0px auto 0px auto; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_column bg_color=”” type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_image type=”none” src=”https://weddingsatwork.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Alfie-Mhai_Artists-Choice-0005.jpg” alt=”” link=”false” href=”#” title=”” target=”” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” info_content=””][/x_column][/x_row][/x_section][x_section style=”margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; padding: 45px 0px 45px 0px; “][x_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” bg_color=”” style=”margin: 0px auto 0px auto; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_column bg_color=”” type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_text]
No regrets!

We wondered if any of our W@Wies felt that they would have enjoyed the trips more if they did not anticipate a proposal. All of them said “no.”

According to Bianca, “For me, okay lang na umasa ako. It makes for funny stories, haha!”

“Yes,
” says Leslie. “Pero saglit lang na na-ruin at hindi ‘yung date. Yung mood. But it gives way kasi na makapag-talk kami ng plans namin sa aming relationship. Mas naging okay kasi nga napag-usapan over dinner ‘yung mga goals, plans, or expectations. Mas naging clear ang lahat.”

As usual, we asked our W@Wies for tips to share to women who are hoping (or even expecting) a proposal anytime soon; and here’s what they have to say about it:

“Don’t feel too bad about your umaasa stage kasi nakakatawa sila pag-usapan after you get engaged,” assures Bianca. “Okay lang umasa, but don’t let this get in the way of your relationship, of having fun, and experiencing new things and places with your significant other.”

Gem lightheartedly quips, “Tip to from an officemate: Sabihin mo ang ring size mo para sakto at walang adjustment na kailangan.”[/x_text][/x_column][/x_row][/x_section][x_section style=”margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; padding: 45px 0px 45px 0px; “][x_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” bg_color=”” style=”margin: 0px auto 0px auto; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_column bg_color=”” type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_text]More W@W Wedding Proposal Stories

We couldn’t get enough of these memorable Wedding Proposal stories, so instead of just sticking to three, we collected more from our W@Wies to share here.

Pero on our 3rd year civil wedding anniversary, he did.
The kwento. The usual, we ate out kaso naloka ako kasi every anniversary, we splurge.

Talagang we eat sa mga sosyaling resto kahit na super kurips siya, pero this time sa isang pizzeria lang kami.

I asked pa before going out kung mag-aayos ba ako or what, he said no. So ayun, hindi naman sa nalungkot ako pero syempre minsan lang naman kami makakain ng bongga.

Pero moving on, looking forward nalang ako sa exchange of gifts namin. Pagalingan kasi kami mag-gift.

After dinner, he asked kung saan ko gusto pumunta, sa flyer or sa the gardens by the bay. I said sa flyer, so flyer it is.

Then he started reminiscing. May away pang naganap. Tapos kinuha ko ung bag ko at binigay ung gift ko: Wines in a tube.

And then wala siyang binigay! Naloka ako!

Pero after a few minutes, tumayo siya at pinatayo ako. And then he popped the question na, “Will you marry me again?”” —Rose Amistoso[/x_text][/x_column][/x_row][/x_section][x_section style=”margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; padding: 45px 0px 45px 0px; “][x_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” bg_color=”” style=”margin: 0px auto 0px auto; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_column bg_color=”” type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; “][x_text]Want to read more W@W Wedding Proposals? WaWParazzi: Ali Khatibi and Cristine Reyes

Since day one when I met Ali and Cristine they have made it clear how they want their wedding to be simple. In fact, the first plan was to have it at the backyard of their new home.

I was not sure at that point if we could pull that off given their celebrity status. But to my surprise, that was exactly what happened last January 27 in Balesin island.

They planned to delay the big wedding because they had a lot on their plate right now, then they called last December to have an intimate wedding in Balesin along with the pictorial.

With just 24 guests, no fancy gown or designer shoes, no fireworks or live music, no make up artist or hairstylist, no ceremony or reception grand set up, even sans all that’s grand, but the wedding came out totally totally perfect.

January 26
Day started so early around 6am and we flew to Balesin island 🙂 with just 24 guests, 5 crew from nice print team. There was no other supplier in tow but our team :):)

We landed in the beautiful island and shortly after lunch we started to explore the island and prepared for our pre wedding shoot.

We started the pre-wedding shoot around 3 pm.
I was at an awe to see Cristine in a simple dress with absolutely no make up, and hair just washed not even blow dried. Wow! Just wow!

Aside from the fact that she is truly beautiful sans make up, it was amazing how this celebrity can be confident to face the cameras without make up.

Here I am shown during BTS for the prenup shoot at Mykonos village in Balesin.

Some more BTS shots with Hazel leading the team of Nice Print.

Here are some of the official prenuptial shots 🙂 🙂 So effortless and simple yet so perfect.
With no make up artist, no styling group with us and no pegs, just two people madly deeply in love. ❤

And so the day January 27 started around 8am att Villa 17, the villa of the couple.

We are so used to weddings having an early call time for preparations, I was so surprised to find out that we were only to be at their villa a little over an hour before her walk down the aisle.

They were that relaxed.

Around 8am, when I called Cristine, she was casually having a relaxed breakfast at the clubhouse and Ali was having a quick haircut also at the clubhouse. They were that spontaneous and that relaxed. Wow! Just wow! 🙂

And so when they went back to their villa, they only took less than an hour to prepare and Cristine inspite of no make up artist/ hairstylist was sooooo beautiful :)!

Around 930 am BTS iPhone shots of the ceremony area. Look at how simple the set up is. No backdrop no flower arrangements. It was as simple as it could be but it was so beautiful.

With the groom, Ali. 🙂 🙂

These are some of the most emotional photos taken!

No eyes were dry that morning. All of us including my team were all crying throughout the ceremony 🙂

It was sooooo touching.

WaW Undercover: Life of a Wedding Coordinator

Backtrack – Whenever we get together and they share wedding behind-the-scene stories, I would always jest that I wanna join and see what goes on. Since I could easily be a nuisance, Thoffy picked a wedding where I know most of the suppliers involved. This way, he can throw me to any of them when his team gets busy.

After a few tries, we finally got a date when I was free and the location was convenient.

Yes, we asked permission from the couple, but I was just lucky they said yes as I am pretty sure they had no idea what they are agreeing to.

The day came and I wanted to do a real time update for the feel. I wasnt able to really plan it and just called it #wawundercover which I know is not really an apt name.

Maybe you can suggest a better name?

Let me share with you how it was for me via a photoblog. Thoffy’s Coord Team arrives at prep 8 hours before the wedding. Make-up team was there and starting already. So much earlier pa sila. The wedding was with Muriel Vega Perez.

*Note: 8 hours is not the standard, may coord na comfy at 6 hours, may iba na 5 hours. It is not the number hours but the comfort zone of each team; being early but inefficient is useless.

Most of the time its meant for sustenance than as an enjoyable treat.

Coord struggle to bring in food, no joke yan. Couples want to feed suppliers well but any amount x the number of people needed to be fed is no joke din.

Suppliers finding a place to eat is also no joke if room is small, lucky if they find a table like in this case; sometimes it is balanced on the lap, sometimes it is awkwardly done with family members around, sometimes it is even done in hotel’s parking lot or in the car on the way to church! But that is if may food.

If food is not provided, that is altogether a bigger problem.
