about this episode: We knew Madge Lejano at a time when the wedding industry was dominated by gay hair & makeup artists. We sat down with her and talked about a lot of stuff; from her beginning until she established The Makeup Studio. We also talked about the ‘no-makeup’ makeup, airbrush myths, HD (high-definition) makeup, etc.
about this episode: We chatted with Jody Liwanag of Events Experts about her experiences as a wedding planner. Her wedding back in 2002 (she’s a former W@Wie) has been her inspiration in getting into events planning. We also talked to her about the Philippine Association of Wedding Planners (PAWP) where she is a founding member and currently holds the VP position. 🙂
about this episode:Melissa Ferrer-Litao (aka Missy) is one of the more known wedding hosts among the W@Wies. In fact, Missy has been the first and only emcee to be included in the Top 10 Wedding Suppliers in W@Wie Awards a few years ago. If you’re a bride who’s fussing about your reception program, this is an episode you may want to listen to. 🙂
about this episode: who doesn’t know our guest for our 4th installment? Jason Magbanua is notably the only Filipino wedding supplier thus far accorded a “celebrity status” which was, in a way, confirmed by this article on trending celebrity dads based on Google Philippines’ search data. In this epsiode, JMag recounts his beginnings as a struggling videographer a little over decade ago, to his journey to where he is in his craft and career today.Although we have extensively covered Jason’s history and influence among his fellow videographers in the W@W VideoFest – BIO: Jason Magbanua, it is still nice to hear the story straight from the guy. :)This was the easiest episode to edit. There was hardly a need to splice anything with a guest like him. Seeing how comfortably Benz and Jason were seated on the couch in the W@W Chatroom gives a glimpse of the casual and cozy setting we do out interview/kwentuhan.:)
about this episode: for our third run into podcasting, we moved from a coffee shop in Thompson Square in Morato, into the basement of the same complex where Mark Laccay’s studio is located.
Here was where we recorded our interview with florist/event stylist, Teddy Manuel. Being witness to our casual chat with Jong in the cofeeshop, he was quite intimidated seeing the studio setup. The cozy couch is where Benz & Teddy sat, while I was relegated in a corner sitting on a monobloc. Not that I mind. I just wanted to paint a clearer picture for our listeners. :DWhen it was decided that the studio would be the permanent location of each podcast recording, Mark nicknamed the place as ‘W@W Chatroom.’ Witty and very internet age. LIKE!
about this episode: for our sophomore outing, we invited our friend, John Mateos Ong (founder, ImagineNation Photography and Wang Video) to be our guest. As we wanted to avoid you guys hearing our baby cry in the background like what happened in our pilot episode, we decided to chat and record in a coffeeshop for the feel and ambiance.BIG MISTAKE!The sound of the blenders and the chatting in another table made the sound quality suffer. Benz was telling me that listening to the raw file was distracting with all the noise. Props to our Mark Laccay (our sound engineer/editor) who did wonders to make our voices standout with all the noise in the background. 🙂
Welcome to the pilot episode of W@W Chat – The WeddingsAtWork.com Podcast!
What’s a podcast? Basically it’s talk radio on the internet except that the audio content is downloaded instead of streamed live.
Why a podcast? Benz is a fan of travel podcasts. She’s one person who has kept her classic iPod for such contents while the one in her phone remain underutilized. For my part, I (with my neighbor and scooter buddy, Mark Laccay) conceptualized and hosted Pinoy Scooter Podcast (about scooter riding in the Philippines). It’s actually thru Mark’s technical assistance that we were finally able to push trough with W@W’s very own podcast.
about this podcast:From the get-go, Benz & I wanted the show’s feel to be very casual. No set questions nor cue cards. More like the way we’d chat with friends, say, over coffee. Listening to an episode would feel like eavesdropping to other people’s conversation, only with consent. ;)You may listen to on your computer by clicking ? (play) in the embedded audio player below. You may also right-click this link to save the MP3 and put it in your iPod. You may also subscribe to W@W Chat via iTunes to automatically download our latest episodes . 🙂
about this episode: Since it’s our first time, Benz & I thought of inviting someone whom we are both very comfortable with as our guest. A willing guinea pig if you may. Since we’ve known the partners in Threelogy Video (Bong, CJ & Jon) way before we were all in the wedding industry, they were the most obvious choice. This was recorded in our house so our apologies for any ambient noise you may hear (i.e. our baby crying. hehe) while we were all chatting. That’s how casual it gets! 😉
We hope you enjoy our very first episode. Happy listening! 🙂
