On December 4, (and every 1st Saturday of the month thereafter) comes an issue of “About Weddings“– a special section of the Manila Bulletin. Aside from its feature stories, regular sections include Bridal Buzz (latest happenings in the wedding industry), Photo of the Month (favorite wedding shot by a featured photographer), Celebrity Dream Weddings (peek into a celeb’s ideal celebration), Recipes for Two (culinary delight from a featured chef), Wedding Announcements, and of course, Prep Talk — our very own monthly column that tackles everything about wedding planning. As our initial offering, we went on “A Nostalgic (and Hilarious) Walk Down Memory Lane“ by revisiting and reminiscing about the oddities of weddings past. Obviously, we can’t credibly comment how good it is since we’re part of its team. Just grab yourself a copy and see for yourself!

Our very own, Lea Salonga is on the cover of the Fall 2004 issue of Inside Weddings — the insider’s guide to weddings with style. For the cover shoot, the Broadway star dons her actual Monique Lhuillier bridal gown which the celebrity designer named “The Lea” in honor of her equally talented Filipina client. The feature is in the Real Weddings section of the magazine and details her wedding vendors, some of which are also celebrated Filipino talents (Juan Sarte, Veloso Brides, Andy Tecson Photography, Rajo Laurel, Lila Almario, etc.). The article also includes several photographs taken by Tecson during the big day itself. Inspired by Google Doodles, we will display from time-to-time a modified W@W logo as our homepage header to commemorate a certain event relevant to site, to weddings or to the Philippines in general. Since Benz & I are BIG fans of The Amazing Race, we’re displaying the W@W logo with the show’s familiar red and yellow route marker in anticipation of the September 15 & 22, 2004 episodes showing the racers visiting the Philippines. The 11th Pitstop is the Coconut Palace (a popular wedding ceremony and reception venue in Manila) and the 12th is El Nido’s Lagen Island Resort in Palawan (a local honeymoon destination).
